Whakairo is the art of carving and has been practiced by Maori for cultural purposes, both practical and artistic, for many hundreds of years.
Greg is inspired by historical, ancestral and contemporary art to create carvings using wood and bone.
Mary takes her inspiration from the nature and environment of New Zealand to create carvings in bone and limestone.
Both enjoy adding embellishments with shell inlay and feather bindings.
